We sent our ROC the middle of June and received a RFE in August, sent it back just before the dead line. The RFE was for evidence from the duration of our marriage. We sent back bank statements and such from the entire time of our marriage.

We still have not heard a peep from them. I am starting to worry. The past three years of marriage have been terribly difficult, but now we are going to counseling and seem intent to work through our problems. I have this ugly fear that now that we are headed in the right direction that something bad may happen.

Thoughts, encouragement and prayers are much appreciated at this point :)

I can't imagine that you should have any trouble with this. Many marriages have problems and the fact that you are going to consoling should also help to prove that you are serious about your marriage. Good luck.

If you got your RFE in August I am assuming by submitting your RFE close to deadline it happened somewhere in November. I would wait until the 60 days is up and call if you still haven't heard back, which I hope is pretty soon.

I would try to call USCIS now just to make sure your case is still pending and not lost or anything. Just to nudge them a bit - I was worried too. I called a month after my RFE was rec'd just to "find out" if I was "supposed to" receive anything regarding the RFE receipt at the center. Since you're already on the phone with them they're gonna have to check the case in some shape or form. Oh and speak with a Tier 2.

I really don't think you'll have problems and at this point in time, no news is still good news.

Good luck!

ROC Journey:

4/24/13 - Submitted I-751 application

4/26/13 - I-751 officially filed

6/11/13 - Biometrics done

8/14/13 - Rec'd RFE

9/21/13 - Submitted RFE response

9/23/13 - RFE response rec'd at VSC

(about 2 months later)

11/21/13 - Service request via Tier 1 submitted

12/11/13 - Response to service request rec'd - vague info about processing times

12/12/13 - Service request via Tier 2 submitted

12/10/13 - APPROVED!!! (letter rec'd 12/14/13)

12/16/13 - 2nd Service request response rec'd

12/17/13 - Card production email/text rec'd (online case updated)!

12/24/13 - Notification rec'd via email regarding card mailed on 12/23/13 (online case updated as well)

12/26/13 - 10-yr card rec'd!

One thing I have learned on this journey:

There is no such thing as an "overkill" evidence package. Submit anything and everything you can. Who knows what will prevent you from getting an RFE.

I know what you mean about waiting. We filed for my husband's ROC in February 2012, got an RFE in 10/2012, got the I-155 stamp in his passport because the extension letter was expiring, interview at the local USCIS field office on February 13,2013, another RFE in 10/2013!

We have gotten our congressman's office, ombudsman at homeland security involved and finally an immigration lawyer earlier this month. Now because it has been 3 years since he has been here in the US, we have file the N-400 application last week. They've cashed the check (but of course!) and now we wait. According to the lawyer, once we get the first NOA they have 6 months to adjudicate not only the ROC but also the naturalization application. If they don't, we will be filing a law suit to where ever the hold up is. It can be 2 places, either still sitting on the Immigration officer's desk at the local office, or at homeland security because of name checks. Regardless we are done playing the waiting game.
