Hey all!

So, I finally made it to the States two weeks ago :) Woohoo!!! So, anyway, my fiancé was telling me about a women he works with who is also going through the fiancé visa process. Her fiancé is from/in Peru and apparently they have been waiting over a year for their petition to be approved.

So, my question is, does anyone have any experience with the US embassy in Peru? How long is the usual waiting time for there? Is it considered a high fraud area? I need to talk to her to get more information, but I figured if I had some info before speaking to her then it may make things easier. Any information is appreciated!

Thanks

Yes, I have been through the interview process in the US Embassy in Lima....and Yes, and I found out myself, Peru is considered a high-fraud country as far as marriages go...I would say that my interview was 9 months or less after the application, which is less time than the marriage actually lasted..

Hey ^_^

Congrats on your approval / arriving to the states! I am sooooo eager to get there already. I am about to have my interview next monday! This whole process has taken around 3-4 months for me. Feel free to message me if you need anything or if you have questions. :) I'll be more than willing to help. It can get a bit confusing once it gets "country specific", or at least it was for me... you don't see that much activity from Peruvian's as you see from other countries.

Also, I have heard from an immigration lawyer (I happen to know) that Peru's embassy is actually not too harsh with fiancee visas, and doesn't require as much proof or documentation as others. But then again, I am not sure how accurate this is. Most of the reviews I have read of the interview, the beneficiaries were not even asked for any proof of relationship.

Anyway, I am here if you need anything.

I am the beneficiary by the way.

Cheers :D
