I agree with you 100%. But look what happened in October when they had the alledged "govt. shutdown" (it was actually about a 10% shutdown) Everyone freaked out because some tourist attractions were closed and the local economy was going to be ruined because of it. Cutting govt. spending means taking a very small hit in the GDP. They'd rather keep the GDP growing even if it means running the govt. on borrowed money from the Chinese. Another example of living for tady and #### tomorrow.

I'm cool with it though. I'll be growing watermelons in rural Thailand when the zombie apocolypse breaks out.

For sure. The shut down was really more of a dog and pony show. Shutting down the parks is the equivalent of cancelling your netflix subscription after you lose your job. But not cancelling water/electrical/cable

They are. Just the wrong parts of it. Cutting retirees' wages that were promised decades ago, for example.
