This is normal. The bone yard isn't a place where all aiplanes are sent to rot. It's a storage area that has environmetal conditions that are the least corrosive and damaging to aircraft. They will most likely be utilized some time in the future or sold.

Still a little wasteful to keep building them because the AF and Army are having a spat, don't ya think?

Well when does the government not waste money and make silly decisions? However, the original article makes it sound like they are being scrapped when they are just being sent to storage. This is a drop in the bucket of government waste.

That was just part. What about the other programs marked for removal by the pentagon? Yet, we're too afraid of the cost of jobs to cancel a program we don't need.

True, but I would suggest cutting defense would be like a corporation in trouble cutting its only profitable division. You GROW your profitable business, not cut it.

Wouldn't be cool if they could at least get a handle on the spending? It looks like an orgy at this point.

I agree with you 100%. But look what happened in October when they had the alledged "govt. shutdown" (it was actually about a 10% shutdown) Everyone freaked out because some tourist attractions were closed and the local economy was going to be ruined because of it. Cutting govt. spending means taking a very small hit in the GDP. They'd rather keep the GDP growing even if it means running the govt. on borrowed money from the Chinese. Another example of living for today and #### tomorrow.

I'm cool with it though. I'll be growing watermelons in rural Thailand when the zombie apocolypse breaks out.
