Hello,

Well I am writing my behalf of my brother, which had his I-129F NOA1 on January 15, 2014. He got a message for A number assigned on January 21, 2014.

For a second he got very excited, but then after a little research, we found out that A number being assigned doesnt mean approval soon...

Anyways... Can you write here about Texas Service Center, if you were approved in the past two weeks, and also how's their processing speed?

I filed for my wife back in 2012, Vermont Service Center, SUPER SLOW, it took 7 months to get I-129F approved...

Thank you for any information provided!!

Arrgghh..... Things are moving slow at Texas Service Center.

I called USCIS last week and after a hour and a half wait, spoke to an immigration officer about my case and he said that our 129F was sent out on Dec 23rd to a third party undergoing a security check. I asked how long that process may take and they said that anywhere from a couple of weeks to several months. Yea, that's great. (sarcastic)

After another hour wait, I just USCIS again a couple min ago and spoke to another immigration officer and she said that our petition was out for security background check and that the timeline for I129F cases right now are more than 5 months, more so 5-8 months. I asked her why even though my case is an expedited case, it is moving slower than some other petitions that are being approved in a month or two. Seriously, some petitions are approved in almost two weeks!?!?!?! (Lucky as hell!!)) She had no reasoning for that except to say that the nation's security is very important.

Umm... yeah, and those that stay illegally get to stay, while those of us that try to do it the legal way have to go through much more waiting, and poking, and prodding into our lives, and have no definitive time frame so as to be able to plan our future. Yea, sure, let's plan on getting married in 5 - 8 months, to be exact, or possibly a year. Who knows?!?!

Sorry, just venting cause the not even knowing exactly how long it will take really really sucks.
