I also applied for i 130 in june 2013. I sent in the k3 in Sept. They joined each other a few weeks ago and were both transferred to Cali on the same day. I think we should both be hearing something very soon. Try not to worry.

Thank you all for your advice and patience. I really do appreciate it. At this time, I will not be filing an I129F, based on the fact that my I130 HAS BEEN APPROVED BY THE USCIS!!! Only 6 days after receipt, somehow we have been approved and are now going to be headed to the NVC Phase (I assume) of the process. Thank you all once again for your help, thank God I did not pay and additional $1840 to my lawyer prior to this happening!

USCIS

9/15/12 - Married in Tbilisi, Georgia

7/15/13 - I-130 Application submitted

7/29/13 - NOA1 (Overland Park, KS)

1/22/14 - Case transferred to California Service Center, being processed

1/29/12 - USCIS Approval of I-130 Immigrant Petition

Great to here, especially that you didn't pay that lawyer.

Yes, I applied in June, however it just sat in a pile somewhere until 1/24 when it was transferred to the CSC and was actually processed. It has been 6 days since they began processing the case...

Thanks for the clarification. You have not yet applied for anything. You filed a petition. The approved petition opens the door for your spouse to apply for a visa. CSC approved the petition 6 days after the receipt after probably less than 30 minutes of actual processing.

I think once you were registered as I-130 petitioner USCIS won't let you to register I-129. In addition, you should get approval within 60 after having been transferred to the service center. Hold on, be strong smile.png

Congrats on the approval. I suggest removing this lawyer from your file when it hits the NVC however. :)

Awesome, but also confused. I was under the impression that the NVC would be done with my case about 1 month after receiving it, but now I am being told that it will take more like 3-5 months! Disappointed in that regard, but awesome to be done with the USCIS!

well I am talking regarding my case,,,it did not hurt me and they did not move my case to end of the line!!!I field june and 2 weeks later my I 129 filed to a different service center,,,I got a letter for both of them transfered to NSC at same time,,the I130 and I129 go to different places,,and the USCIS tells you if any one got approved first will cancell the other,,if this will cause a problem USCIS would not have offered it from the first place.

USCIS has no skin in this game, for chasing a visa.

Petitions otoh, lotsa skin there.

They are clueless for casefile actions at NVC.

If there were not clueless, they would know about administrative closing.

If they knew about administrative closing, they would stop recommending to file the I-129F.

your case is different, 2 different service centers, but they played an evil trick on you to send both to NSC (MSC?) and now you will have more 'fun' in the near future. You were supposed to send the I-129F into the service center address on I-130 receipt, so who knows what's what with yer casefile? I certainly do not, and USCIS will get confused also, prior to ad)udication.

I can appreciate you have some skin in the game, but I've been following the game almost 5 years now. Sure, permutations occur often, as a result of casefile management at USCIS, but hey !!!! Run when you get something approved, and good luck !

depends!

I-130 approval - 2 to 3 more months at NVC for Visa Application process, doc intake and fees.

I-129F approval - 1 month at NVC for logging and back-room ops, then off to the IV Unit.

IMO - chasing a CR-1/IR-1 visa leads to superior 'thing', always.

She has a lawyer, so 3 to 5 months at NVC is quite likely plus the month or so to get the file to NVC. Then add a couple months for interview and you're looking at an interview sometime between August and October.
