Those are examples of segregation as it was protected under the law. Post-segregation the legacy of institutionalized racism still exists to this day. I'm 41 and I can say that I have fought, and I do mean physical altercations, my entire life even after college. I'm not quick to go to fist to cuffs anymore but I've been called N so many times I can't even quantify it, it was a red button to throw down for me. College was the worse. Had people defecate and smear it on my door, someone spray painted a swastika on the sidewalk in front of our dorm freshman year, harassed by campus police just walking on campus at night. I'm not Catholic but I went to a Catholic university, funny thing about the swastika is that perhaps the idiot didn't know they hate Catholics too. Seriously every Black person in America has a story, I only bring this up to say that to point out it is obvious you have no Black friends or even know what goes on - and that is fine you don't have to have any interactions with Black people that does not bother me at all. But when you form opinions out of ignorance that makes you look like a smile.png

Funny you would tell me it is wrong to form opinions out of ignorance, the tell me I have no black friends. The racism examples I cited,. I have seen them all with my own eyes. I showed your post to a black buddy of mine that stopped by..I will not repeat what he called you.It would probably earn me another time out.

As for me, lot's of examples I could give you of me doing things back in the day that got me threats or nasty comments from other whites. Just one, is the time I left the company Christmas party with my black co-worker, his wife, and very smoking hot sister to go to a black night club and dance the night away.Or the time I fired the EOC NCO in a 90% white National Guard company for using a racial slur and appointed a black. Boy that made the leadership mad.(acutally that's 2)

Anyway I had lots of blacks in my dorm back in the day. Early 80's They got along fine with all and us with them. Exchanged haircuts, smoked a lot of weed with each other.Got introduced to Teddy P and other great music. Not trying to "Oh I have a black friend you" just telling you you have no clue what you are talking about.

Then there was the time "the good ol boys club" sent me a message because my GF and her friend from boarding school were down and we let a black guy ride the strip with us.

Anyway...Could be your dorm mates just flat did not like you for other reasons?? Of course Racism is always the go to excuse.

The whole point of my post was to say that you were downplaying Janelle bc she had not experienced segregation such as separate fountains etc. I was merely pointing out that if you were close to the Black experience you would understand that there is still overt racism today. It may no longer be protected under the rule of law, but it is still there. That is why I proceeded to share with you some of my experiences of overt racism I have dealt with.

I really don't care what your Black buddy said about me lol I know you think we all may look alike, but we are as diverse as any other group in this country.

Hey that's great that you have shared good experiences with people outside your race.... That is awesome dude! Because we all know nothing says Black like listening to Teddy P, dancing with a big booty sister, smoking reefer and inviting a homie along for the ride. Hopefully you were not short changed in your experience and some brother gave you an honorary bucket of fried chicken and pot of collards to eat :)

Seriously jokes aside I think what you did in your examples were good, thanks for sharing. You are correct I don't know you or anything about you, my response was based on what you previously said.

fried chicken is so so good.

so, tying this back to post #1,

yer saying this wage increase is a good thing, since folk can purchase more chicken?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I almost fell out of my chair..Funny..All my black experiences have been Music, weed and sex .monologue..Not quite accurate, but funny as hell. My mom one time went out to the car one Sunday Am, came back in and told me it smelled like weed. I told her I had given two black guy a ride home from the jiffy mart in our small town. I told her they started smoking weed, and I was scared to cross them, and added, you know how they are..It freaking worked.

As for Janelle..I was asking her, because to be honest I have no idea what she has seen or not seen. Most of you younger black guys have no idea, what is was really like. I do. I was there. As the song goes, you should have seen it in color.

I think you mistake my post asserting that Blacks are their own worst enimies now, as somehow not reconzing the past and things that have lead to it

Speaking of making things up, I may be one of the only people here who still remember when you used to claim you were black.

I think you have me confused with someone else who claimed they were black also

If you live in central GA., its probably your cousin/uncle/brother Jethro at your backdoor

And yet another great post from those who lead the fight against prejudice and stereotyping
