There's reasons for that. I think the main stream "sun avoidance" in HK is mostly a skin quality thing. My wife won't go in the sun because she's afraid it will give her wrinkles. Which is true. I think the old school folks associate dark skin in Asians comes from day laboring. Which would be lower class. Even the whites used to use lead based powder to appear more white.

Its interesting how different eras the skin indicates different things.

Before- Working in the sun equaled poor.

Now- playing in the sun means healthy active.

I for one do not object to Black fraternities, even if I don't understand their purpose.

What is it Black engineers do together?

Of course historically, they had a purpose but the vast majority of them are new... not continuations of a bygone era.

What I do object to is the vilification of whites who might want a white group in college or a white trade association. Again I don't see the purpose of most of them but there is a principle which to me is what is important.

For instance, if I were to go to BlackOnlydating.com, no doubt there would be advertisements ... would those same advertisers also be free to advertise on WhitesOnlyDating.com.. or might they be subject to a negative PR campaign?

Could WhitesOnlyDaTING run ads to attract business in the same places where BlacksOnlydating is free to run ads?

Double standards always lead to social unrest.

You missed my first post. Black people weren't allowed into white frats for quite some time. In fact there was an article not too long ago that a soro just broke it's tradition and let a black girl in after 40 years I think. That was last year.

And any black website I've been on doesn't discriminate against white people or any others.

We had one black dude in our IT department. He died. Cancer.

Then a bunch of white guys savaged each other for his spot. It was ugly. Relationships ruined, but someone got to be VP.

Our IT department is filled with Indians. Mostly H1B visa holders.

Probably the same as Carlos, Jose, Juan or some othe HIspanic name. Maybe some people have problems with German names like Klaus, or Wilhelm, or Indian names like Naresh or Sanjaya. Who the #### knows? But to basically tell a whole race of people that they're not good enough and that they need special treatment to succeed, is only hurting them in the long run. People start to become reliant on that special treatment, and in some cases when things don't go their way, it has to be racism.

Granted the site you mentioned may be open to all.... but there are plenty of sites and orgs "Directed at" certain races, (which I have no problem with)

However I am not so sure you would welcome the same exclusive groups, sites,for all races.
