When asked about gay people, Anatoly Pakhomov told Panorama: "We don't have them in our town"

The mayor of Sochi, host of the Winter Olympics, has said there are no gay people in the city.

Anatoly Pakhomov said homosexuals were welcome at the Games - as long as they "respect Russian law" and "don't impose their habits on others".

Opposition leader Boris Nemtsov said there were several gay bars in Sochi.

Funny how a city without any gays whatsoever maintains several gay bars. Is the government keeping them above water or what? I swear, you can't make this shite up. This mayor would make a good Republican.

It's the "riviera of Russia." From what I understand, Russians go there. It doesn't even snow there either.

Sochi is considered the biggest resort town on the Russian Riviera.

Nope, not a fan of Russia. Been there once to know I won't be visiting again. Especially after the way my father was treated.
