My fiance already mailed out p3 and he had the package tracked with EMS. The system showed that the GZ embassy signed for the package Monday morning. Now we're just waiting for the p4 e-mail so we can schedule an interview. I was looking on the Chinese forums on QQ and most of the women (why is it only women? lol) received their p4 e-mails about a week after the consulate received the returned p3 materials.

Also, I was on the CGIS website poking around a few days ago and I saw it said the next earliest interview date was Feb 18th. Seems a little late to me? I seem to remember seeing that available slots change all the time depending on when you try to schedule. Is that true? Any advice for trying to get the quickest interview date possible?

thankssssssss VJ family!!!!!!!!

Unless something has changed since last October, they release interview dates periodically. There's not really a clear pattern as to when the appointments get released. You simply need to watch for appointments regularly and when you see one, grab it. You need to be flexible. The key is to check for appointments a few times a day.

Just want to point out that Chinese New Year starts this week. I'm not sure if you have experianced it yet, but it usually lasts one or more weeks depending on who takes off. I know it's only supposed to be about three days long, but this is when folks take thier vacations.

It took all packets about 3 weeks to reach my honey in Chengdu, so I think a week is lightning speed - maybe she lives in Guandong Province not far? Yes, the Embassy will be closed for a couple of weeks (they double-dip-take both US and Chinese holidays).

So my fiance mailed her P3 to Guangzhou about 3.5 weeks ago from Beijing and they said they haven't received it yet. Is that wait time normal? She mailed as requested from a CITIC bank in Beijing, although the folks at CITIC seemed unfamiliar with the process. Just wanted to get a sense if anyone had any info on the P3-P4 timeline.

Thanks!

My fiancé mailed her P3 standard shipping. They received it in three days. Since then they emailed instructions for P4. She went online completed all the paperwork and scheduled her interview (April 30). We never had instructions on how to send P3. Good luck if you're still waiting.
