My husband filed for me, so it's spousal.

As far as I can tell, I haven't received my NOA2 because I was part of an unlucky group that of cases that got transferred to local offices. The local offices seem to operate according to their own agenda... which means ignoring I-130s because they don't normally process them.

I have contacted congressman, ombudsman, lawyers, went for infopasses, had service requests.. ... done everything.. and still nothing.

Thanks for the information!

I put a service request yesterday. They told me that someone will respond within 15 days but I have a strong feeling that its just a way to make me stop calling them for 15 days. I am going to do that ombudsman thing if I don't hear anything in the next 5 days.

Yeah, the service request will likely not do anything.

There is no point in waiting to contact the ombudsman, since it can take them up to 45 days to respond to you. Just go ahead and do it. Even if your case gets approved tomorrow, there was no harm done by filling out the form for the ombudsman.

IR1/CR1 Visa - We are using a lawyer!

USCIS

22 Jan 2013 -- packageSent
31 Jan 2013 -- NOA1 from NBC

6 Mar 2013 -- I130 transferred to Orlando local field office (which started the whole nightmare)

Mar 2013 to October 2013 no one would tell us where our case was or what was happening. I suspected the whole time it was just sitting in a corner somewhere in the Orlando field office. I was pretty much right.

October 2013 - get congressman involved. Congressman asks USCIS repeatedly about our case but they won't even tell them anything.

31 Jan 2014- finally get NOA2!!!! (we think the nightmare is over!)

NVC

Our case was not sent from the Orlando field office as it should have been. The nightmare continues. We kept calling NVC and asking if they received our case, and they always said "NO" and that we had to wait 90 business days for it to be received. We called USCIS during this time and they kept telling us it had been sent. After the 90 days of agonizing frustration, NVC then started telling us we had to wait 120 business days. I got our congressman involved again, and they told the congressman it was sitting at the Orlando office this whole time (just as I thought it was!).

22 Apr 2014 -- NVC received
16 May 2014 -- NVC case number assigned
24 May 2014 -- AoS and IV bills paid

28 May 2014 -- Sent AoS and IV Packages

6 June 2014 -- documents scanned

18 July 2014 -- false checklist from NVC

21 July 2014 -- Case complete

28 July 2014 -- receive case complete email from NV

30 July 2014 -- interview booked! September 11 here I come!

04 Sept 2014 -- Medical
11 Sept 2014 -- Interview - APPROVED!!!!

I'm pulling out all the stops. I did a Ombudsman application and also faxed to the Senator.

You guys seriously need to make some noise and call everyday. Literally every single day. And be sh***y with them (obviously not to the point of being violent or abusive). I work in an office, and if we get the same person calling over and over, we do all we can to get them to stop! Don't let up until you get that NOA2! You've been waiting for so long and they're giving you no information about it. You have every right to be upset with them and demand that they do the job they're paid to do.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

That would work for normal offices but not at USCIS. I called a lot of times in the last few months and each time a different person answers the call. So there is no long term effect as they don't keep track of who is calling how many times. And till a few weeks ago, they didn't even transfer me to an immigration office as my case is still 'within processing time frame' ( GOD! I hate that phrase). Finally I was able to put a service request on Monday and again the same story repeats. I called USCIS yesterday and today and no matter how much I try, I cant get any more information from them other than - 'There is already a service request, wait for 15-30 days for a response'. I want to keep calling, but I don't think it really matters. They simply don't care.

Mine transferred to NSC too. I find it shocking how USCIS bungled it so bad. I have had a few experiences with USCIS in the past but never witnessed this level of incompetence.
