Hi everyone-

We have been called for my husband's AOS interview. We met with our attorney the other day, and she thinks that we do not have enough documentation for the interview. I am a US citizen and my husband is from Peru. We married last January.

Here is a list of the documents we have:

Joint tax return 2012

Joint savings account statement

Joint check account statement

Joint car insurance

Joint credit card bill

1 document showing him as beneficiary to my 401k

1 document showing him as beneficiary to my life insurance

4 affidavits (1 family, 2 friends, 1 priest)

Varies bills showing common address

Pictures, boarding pass stubs from past trips

I don't know what other documentation we can provide. We both have separate health insurance policies as it is more cost effective this way, our cell phones are provided by our employers, and we don't want to open any new credit cards as we are in the middle of saving for a down payment on a home and our financial advisor has advised us against any new lines of credit. His employer provides him with a company truck and my vehicle was purchased before I met him, so it is only registered in my name. Someone suggested getting joint life insurance, but I don't know if we can obtain that quickly enough as our interview is on Thursday. Also I think it would look more suspicious if we just went out and got anything we could in our names together on such short notice.

We married civilly last January and have a religious ceremony and reception planned for June 2014. Just a few select people know that we have married civilly.

Can anyone offer any advice on documents asked for during the interview and any other suggestions on things that we could possibly provide? I am getting so nervous for this interview.

I really appreciate any help!

The only other thing I can think of right away is maybe a lease for the place you are living in and then of course pictures, but I am sure you already thought of that yourself ;) Other than that I think you have a pretty good list of things! I don't see where you should need anything else. Don't worry too much about it. I am sure everything will be fine! :)

We are currently living with my parents as we are saving for a down payment on a home, so we don't have a lease document. My Mom wrote one of the affidavits and it states in her affidavit that we are currently living in her home with her and my Dad.
