Billions of dollars spent on the war on poverty and nothing is changed but grand children picking up the same check as their grand mother....You have a whole generation of drunks and addicts.....You are going no where fast if the child does not see their parents get dressed in the morning and walk out the door to a job, BOTH parents. .People need to take responsibility on who is going to be the father and mother of their children, IE.. A responsible adult . You bring in millions of undocumented democrats and wonder why there are no full time jobs. It cost too much to send them back......Would it not be worth it to break the cycle of poverty.

No, immorality leads to single-parent families, which tend to keep folks in poverty for generations. People tend to live like like they were raised, unless they are exceptional.

Single parent homes have been happening for a long time. Ask massa, they started the trend.

I'm pretty sure it was mandated by Congress over a hundred years ago that everything is the fault of women. At least that's how I remember it.

How is it that the article and the study mentions several factors that negatively impact upward mobility, yet the OP harps on just the single parents. No one wants to address the other issues brought out in the article, like segregation, and lack of quality schools?
