Hi everyone,

So we received our call for the AOS interview. YAY!!! And it is in philly...

So here is the wrinkle in the story...my husband and I commute between 2 cities. He studies in philly and I work in DC. I'd love to move up north but I can't find a good job yet and he has no work permit and one of us needs to hold a job. Our lawyer told us we need to prove that philly is where we maintain our marital residence since they can tell us to reschedule an interview in Va. Frankly, we have stuff in both places.

So two questions: 1) Anyone else with a two-city situation? 2) Anyone who can share their philly experiences. We're very nervous after being wrung time and over again by USCIS.

I-485 , I-765, I-130: NOA1 : 1/23/2006

Biometrics 2/23/2006

Temporary EAD given for 1 month ONLY b/c of Infopass appt: 5/1/2006

Went back to renew EAD through Infopass: EAD card was not given "due to reasons we can't disclose"

5/3/2007: Confirmation that EAD is delayed due to background checks. (started to use the senator, ombudsman and was just a royal pain in the neck)

5/30/2007: EAD production ordered (after over 400 days of waiting!!! woo hoo!)

AOS Interview: 5/12/2008!!! FINALLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7/29/2008: card production ordered...918 days..can't wait to see that card!

We had a great interview in Philly. The USCIS workers are all very, very nice. The only problem is parking. If you park on the street, bring plenty of quarters and don't go over the 2 hours limit. You could park in the lot around 17th and Callowhill. Or take SEPTA - no parking worries.

Best of Luck!

I live in Philly and had a citizenship interview about 5 years ago. Didn't want to bother with parking either, so I took subway to center city and walked from 15th str. station. Not the best way since it took quite a while, but it was OK.

Can't tell you about that kind of interview, but my citizenship interview was fine.

Met online - May 2004

Met in person - August 2004

Got married - May 2005

Filed I-130 - July 2005

Filed I-129 - August 2005

Interview - February 2006 - 221(g) - still under investigation.

Another useless interview - July 2006 - got nowhere!

August 23, 2007 - he's finally here!

I am going to have that same problem. My husband's and I primary residence is in NEW YORK but because he is in the military, he is stationed in VA. So you see our little conundrum also

Thanks everyone for your encouragement. I pray and hope it goes well. Our lawyer said that we need to prove philly as the residence so the USCIS people don't think we're separated. I hope we end up with one of the nice USCIS people.

Thanks again!
