Approval on plain white paper from wrong office?

Ugh...I'm a ROC filer with a divorce waiver. Back when I submitted my packet in August, I got an official NOA from Laguna Niguel, CA and a rejection notice for failure to pay fees from Lincoln, NE. The NOA was on official embossed paper and the rejection was on plain white A4 paper. Turns out the rejection was mailed in error (I had included the correct fees) and my filing was accepted. Did my new Biometrics in September. Have not received an interview date.

Today I received my ROC approval notice and it is printed on plain white A4 paper mailed from Lincoln, NE with a stamped signature of the same person who sent my rejection notice. All the details on the letter are correct. BUT my online status has not changed from 'Initial Review'. The date of decision listed is 1/18/2014 so it arrived a week later and still no online status change.

My approval arrived on the same unofficial looking paper. And. My status updated online about a week later. So I would say it is legit. I would wait at least 2 weeks for the card. If you don't receive the card, then you should call. Good luck!

Like Cheezees, I also received my approval notice on an unofficial looking paper. You can see a scan of it here: http://journeythroughimmigration.blogspot.com/2013/09/approved.html And like Cheezees as well, my status updated about a week later (check my signature for dates) to being approved. You can always call USCIS to confirm if you've been approved if you want.

So I just called the USCIS number on the letter and they have no updates to my case that they could share (i.e. no approval). They only said that sometimes it takes 30 days for the updates to Case Status to be reflected. #######.

This is driving me nuts. I want to be hopeful but then I don't want my hopes crushed.

NOAs are now on plain paper to save costs. There was a USCIS news brief about it.

My status update didn't change until I got a notice for card production. My approval actually came in official paper with a local office issuance. This was last month.
