I think everyone here is confused by your profile. It says your filing a K-1 which a fiancee visa. I think we have questions.

• Are you two legally married in Nigeria or anywhere?
• Do you already have an I-130 filed?

From your posts I think you are already married and have filed and I-130 for a CR-1 visa. Now your asking if you can get a tourist visa to come to the US and have another wedding for US relatives. If that's the case no there is nothing illegal about just having a ceremony but you may have a hard time getting that tourist visa.

We initially filed for the K1 visa. Afterward we found out about him having to stay for the submission of the 90 day advance parole. With him being in such an extensive PhD program he could stay 30 days at most and he has to go back to the UK. So, we decided to withdraw the petition and explain why we are withdrawing. Now, we are exploring other options to move forward. We just need to make sure everything is legal. We are not already married . We will be goiny to the registry in Nigeria in March 2014. After we are legally married, then I will submit the paperwork for the i130. I apologize for all the confusion. Also, I am sincerely grateful for all your responses. After that in July we would like to celebrate here in the US with my family by having a wedding. We want to make sure we would not break any laws.
