It seems to me that most people here would rather no one have guns rather than deal with the mental health problems that are the reason behind all of these shootings. Ditto for suicides.

ok - well, that's a sad position to take, IMO. I'm a big fan of calling the psychiatric sherrif's office and requesting a wellness check. If'n the psychiatric sherrif fella finds a loonie, they take em away.

Police entered the mall and found three people dead, including one person who was found near a gun and ammunition. There was no indication of additional shots being fired. The scene was secure shortly before 1 p.m., police said.

So who killed the shooter? Or... IS it the shooter? They found a body near a shotgun and some shells.

How could a wall be "bullet riddled", when the alleged perp was using a shotgun?

"We are very confident that it was a single shooter," McMahon said. In that case, WHO killed the shooter?

(CNN) -- Gunfire erupted in a Columbia, Maryland, shopping mall late Saturday morning, leaving three people dead and four injured, police said.

Howard County Police Chief Bill McMahon told reporters that the shooter apparently shot two people before ****ting himself in a store on the second floor. The motive was unclear.

Police entered the mall and found three people dead, including one person who was found near a gun and ammunition. There was no indication of additional shots being fired. The scene was secure shortly before 1 p.m., police said.

"Think about this, on a Saturday afternoon at the mall, how many people may be in there," McMahon said at a press conference as mall customers and employees were still being evacuated. "Something like this happens and people run in many directions, and they also do what we train them to do -- to shelter in place."

A federal official briefed on the shooting told CNN preliminary information indicates the shooting may have been related to a domestic dispute.

So how to handle a domestic dispute?....Domestic disputes ... thousands of years old

I won't be surprised if it is due to a domestic dispute. I don't know about anyone else, but I've had guns all of my life and no matter how mad or out of control I have ever been, I never have thought of shooting someone.

It's easier and cheaper to blame the guns. People like simple boogeymen. It'll take too much effort and money to fix peoples mental problems.

I think a lot of the problem is today's society. Some people don't cope well. It is easy to blame guns, but time and again we see what the mental state of the shooter is. So let's prevent me from having a gun because my neighbor got pissed and shot his wife for doing the milkman.
