Passport Expiry and No Interview Call

Hello Friends,

My online case status is on "Interview scheduling and testing" since 12/31/2013. I heard Atlanta, GA office processing time for interview scheduling and testing is usually about 4 months. My problem is that my passport expires in May 2014. What should I do now? Wait to hear any update on the interview appointment or get the passport renewed?

Please assist me.

I just wanted to add to my previous information that I still have a valid visa and I entered the US through the inspection. I have never gone out of status and I have been in the states for last 7 years. I have a valid one year EAD and valid 2 years driver's license.

You can renew your passport at your home country's consulate. My wife renewed hers at the Haitian consulate in Atlanta. Hopefully, you're approved before yours expires though.

You also don't need to have a valid passport (or even a passport at all) for your adjustment of status.

Spouse-based AOS from out-of-status H-1B, May - Aug 2012
