Defcualty in answering the i-485

we're on K1, no co-sponsors and no dependents. we used I-864 and followed the example forms here on VJ (although the current I-864 is different looking from the VJ example.)

as i understand it, an i-864ez is for those who filed an i-130 (k-3), nessa and i are a k-1, so we are ineligible to file the ez form.

ohh, you see, I thought k1 holders would have to file the I130 with the AOS

A good example of where an instruction is written to address the most common situation, unintentionally and erroneously implying that a similar less common but perfectly acceptable situation is excluded.

Think simply 'the petition', not I-130 Petition, and re-examine your situation.

the ez apparently only applies to certain cases, which ain't ours.

Are you sure? I did the EZ and was so much easier for me

Who May Use Form I-864EZ?

You may use Form I-864EZ IF ALL the following conditions apply:

1.You are the person who filed or is filing the Form I-130,Petition for Alien Relative, for a relative being sponsored;

2.The relative you are sponsoring is the only person listed onthe Form I-130 petition;
