I live in Canada (20+) years. I am submitting the 1R1 for my husband (who is recently retired). Our children (20 & 9) have their Report of Birth Abroad, are they automatically allowed to cross the border with me for a move or am I going to need to do forms on them as well. Thank you.....please, please, please give me good news (no extra submission needed).

All they need are their passports. Only your husband needs to apply for residency. You can apply for their passports and social at the embassy of the US in Canada.

They just need to get US passports. You can get help on that from the US embassy in Canada. Here http://canada.usembassy.gov/passports/acquiring-your-first-passport.html

They are already US Citizens, they just need passports to cross the border.

Can the kids and I go over the border as visitors, with their Canadian passports and my US. Then get their passports at a later date. My oldest has her SS I was going to get my youngest SS when we get there (faster and closer process) she will need for school I'm told.

Not legally. By law, US Citizens must enter the US on US passports. Getting a US passport shouldn't take long.
