This is my particular situation and I would like to run it by the forum. I met a girl while traveling May 2013, since then we've applied twice for tourist visas, last being Sept 2013. Alledgedly, she kept getting turned down for her lack of ties within her community. She doesnt work and has few financial obligations so I have providing for her since then, we got engaged Oct 2013, we opened a jont bank account in her country and i've been traveling back and forth every 2 to 3 weeks since we've met. My big question is this; I will be filing our I-129f next month and was wondering if by providing proof of the i-129f acceptance if that would help us by them recognizing that she shall return to her country for her k-1 visa interview in addition to the anything else that has been established since Sept that I have mentioned?? In other words, what is your opiniion on obtaining a tourist visa once the 129f has been accepted?

Proof of filing an I-129f won't have any effect---its not legitimate proof she would return.

She won't be able to come, I'm not allowed to come down until I'm approved either because I don't have a (stable) job or rent or bills or anything here. My life is down there, so I just have to wait it out. Nice that you can visit her though :-)

You can see a previous response I made to a similar question and our personal experience... the others are correct though.. it will most likely be a waste of money and will be denied.

~ Jan ??,2013 ~ Service Center ~ Vermont I-129F Packet sent

NOTE: Actual sent date unknown due to lawyer negligence - I delivered ALLForms and PAID Lawyer on Nov 7, 2012 - Lawyer kept saying he sent the packet and USCIS must have lost it. When in reality he failed to send the package and only a new copy to USCIS after I made a legal written demand giving him 10 days to perform or return ALL monies paid to him, due to "non-performance".

(IMO it's better to save your money for visits to or from your Fiancé and just fill it out yourself using the K-1 Guide on VJ and Senior Members... They Rock!!!)

May 24, 2013 ~ Case Transferred from Vermont to Texas Service Center (3 E~Notices May 24, 25 and 29 Only one via U.S. Mail)

July 2, 2013 ~ RFE Notification Email and Text Rec'd

July 8, 2013 ~ RFE Hardcopy Rec'd (Requesting Signed/Original "Intent to Marry within 90 days of Arrival" letter from both parties.)

Sep 21, 2013 ~ Packet 4 Hardcopy rec'd via US Mail - Fiancee didn't receive his had to pick up a reprint at Embassy.

07/19/2011 - Met while we were both working in Kuwait

03/18/2013 - I left Kuwait at the end of my contract and returned to the States

07/19/2013 - Got engaged!

09/24/2013 - Mailed in the I-129F packet to TSC

10/01/2013 - Received NOA-1

11/05/2013 - Received NOA-2

12/02/2013 - NVC receives the paperwork

12/03/2013 - Case number assigned

12/06/2013 - Case shipped to embassy

12/29/2013 - Case received by embassy

01/02/2014 - Interview scheduled for January 15th

01/07/2014 - Medical exam

01/11/2014 - Interview pushed back to January 22nd

01/22/2014 - Had the interview, was put into AP pending more documentation

01/26/2014 - Visa approved!

I tried the same thing while our petition was pending and my wife is also from Costa Rica. It will be denied they will not approve a tourist visa while a visa petition is pending.

I know that's not what you want to hear but save your money.
