I hope this is the right Forum, I didn't find an answer to this (am not real good into finding things on here ^^)

soooooo I'm not far at all in my VisaJourney, but yet I have questions for the future...

After entering the U.S. on a K1-visa and getting married (not yet AOS), could I travel within the U.S.? Like take the plane and go to other states?

( Could we travel to an other State like Florida or California or other places like Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, The Bahamas, ... )

Also, my sister will get married (in Europe), likely after I will get the K1-visa and get married. It should be around the time I start or am doing the AOS.. so, could my (then-)husband and I go there for a week and have no problem when re-entering the U.S.?

Thank you in advance smile.png

You can travel within the US but Dominican Republic or Bahamas is not in the US. You cannot go to Europe or leave the US until you have your travel permission, the Advance Parole document. Otherwise you will be not be let back in.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

So many hardship to be able to get married with your love and, after that, another hardship to be able to get out US to see your family and friends ^^

I am in the same situation, my friends get married 2-3 months after I enter in the US and I am not sure to be able to be with them for this great ceremony... it seems that the AOS takes some months (I am wrong ?). Arff ! But this is better than to wait at 6000 miles from your sweet love (I think so).

AOS can take up to a year but the Travel permission, called Advance Parole, will be approved in 90 days from when you file your whole big package.
