I was under the idea I have to do a 156 form but now they are saying its a DS 160 form ...PLEASE which one is acurate so i can proceed. And what is the purpose of this form? Will i be able to come back to the USA to visit my fiance while we wait this process?

The 156 no longer exists, it was replaced by the DS-160, but you won't need this until after you have been approved and your petition is at your local consulate. ;)

Yes, you are allowed to visit while filing for the visa. There have been a view cases where people where not granted entry, but normally you can visit without any problems. It is always got if you have proof of ties back to your home country, such as a job, a house, reasons to go back. This might help when entering the US. That way they won't worry about you just staying. The first time I visited my fiancé they didn't ask anything like that, but the last time the officer wanted to now if I currently worked, but it was no big deal, I told him that I was going to college, he didn't even want to see proof. But it is always good to have some documents with you, just in case. ;)

You can go ahead and mail everything. My fiance was here in the US when we mailed ours.
