Two Weeks and no Check Cashed or NOA1

We mailed the AOS package two Fridays ago to the Chicago lockbox via USPS standard mail from San Diego. Should this be a concern that I still don't see the check cashed or any notification or NOA1?

The average wait time between submitting the I-129f and NAO1 is 7 days.

Sending standard mail could extent that time. Also there was a holiday this week, along with bad weather in the NorthEast, these could also slow down the process time.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you send $1070 for a K1?

It can take up to a month from when they receive it for the check to be cashed.

This is the AOS, not the I-129f.

I think it was intended as a gentle reminder to change your profile! :)

any tracking info with the shipper? if yes,

peg the 'start date' on the day the shipper tagged it as received.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

No, it was just sent first class via the local post office.

[administrivia]

when shipping things to USCIS, buy postage online at usps.com

and select

priority mail, using usps packaging.

price is less, compared to purchasing at post office and

tracking is FREE.

If for some god forsaken reason they decided to return our package because they didn't like the way I wrote the check or something, do they send a text/email telling us that? And would they have a record of it if we called? I ask because only yesterday I added her name to our mailbox at our apartment complex (didn't know that could be an issue with mail addressed/returned to her).

Update:

Two weird things happened...

We finally got the text/email notifications for the AOS, AP, and EAD.....on Sunday evening. Weird.

I still don't see the check cashed. Is it common for them to send the notifications before the check goes through?

They take the money with electronic debit, so if you are looking in "cashed checks" in online banking, it won't be there. They don't accept your package without making sure the money is there. Might be a posting delay or something, but the money is gone.

Hi Everyone

Our concern is the USPS delivery method because we check our address more than 10times probably before we sent it but we receive this message every time we check tracking

  • Expected Delivery Day: Friday, January 24, 2014
  • Your item was forwarded to a different address at 11:00 am on January 24, 2014 in CHICAGO, IL. This was because of forwarding instructions or because the address or ZIP Code on the label was incorrect. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

Yesterday we posted a complaint already with the USPS customer service and told to wait for 24hours for update but so far nothing yet. Anybody experienced this?

Thanks
