I mean really. Approved at consulate. Why are we approved but yet not really approved. In most countries visa is issued the same day. For example Panama.

I agree 100%. AP is worse than The Star Chamber. It belongs in North Korea, not in the world's leading democarcy. If there is a problem granting the visa, tell the parties what the problem is so they can help clear it up. This secrecy is undemocratic and Un-American.

Seriously!!! That's exactly how I feel. I mean if they tell you at the end of the interview congratulations your visa is approved go pay Domex, then they shouldn't make us wait any longer. Have you checked your status on the ceac.state.gov site???

Yes mam I did. Nothing. No Ready. No issued. Just the same ole AP. I saw that you have been issued? If so congrats. I am hoping something will happen soon due to you and I were interviewed on same day.

thank you very much. I found out yesterday. When I checked on 01/22 I don't now why but it said ready (as if ready for an interview lol) then 01/23 in the morning (I checked at 9:05 am) it said AP again I figured ok the ready was an accident. I decided to check again at 12:25 pm and that's when it said Issued. I know another couple who is not a VJ member and were there on the 14th for the interview and they had theirs issued on the 16th. I guess they work at their own pace.

Once you pay Domex after your interview, how long is the wait to actually receive your visa? Also, how quickly can you buy an airline ticket after approval? Once you've been approved at the intervieaw? Once you've paid Domex? Or, once you have your visa in your hand?

My waiting is still waiting. Told me I am approved but this morning dos told me that I am waiting for consulate to approve everything. So approved!!?? This tells me that an approval at interview means nothing. Do not buy an airline ticket is in your hands!! I am waiting for a call from my wife to tell me she has visa in front of her eyes. When will this be........who the hell knows.

The process and times seem to vary for everyone.. You can safely buy the plane ticket.... when you have the visa IN YOUR Passport and your Passport safely in your hands again!!! jajajajaja Don't buy before then.. too much of a risk.

hey i know how you feel , me and my wife were approved on the 8th of this month and we are still waiting , ours had the ap and now it says ready and it has been that way since last week , i have patients but my wife not so much she is going crazy , and she wont calm down until its in her hands , there is no one to call and nothing to ask just have to wait , one day at a time

Keep in touch and lest us know when issued. Good luck. I am booking 2 flights the moment she calls me and has it in her hands. Going for 1 night stay and coming back with her if things get straightened out. I was hoping to be leaving mañana. But...no dice.

No. I've e-mailed the embassy and they replied telling me it's undergoing AP. I also called the US Dept. of State and they said the same thing. I plan on contacting them at the end of the month again to see what's going on.
