Hi!

I have two names: first and middle. On everey documents it states like "Given names" withoput it separating into first and middle. In every form I have every filled it was like: first and and middle name. I always do it like this and it was fine.

In SSA they told me that I should have BOTH names in the blank of "first name", beacuse every document (visa, passport, I-94) have it as one. But I don't see sense in that. It is given NAMES, so it is logic. I went to civic center cause the SSA told me that I must correct my marriage certificate. In the civic center they told me that the certificate is correct and they can't just put my middle name together with first name!

I'm gonna go to SSA another time and try to solve the problem, but have anyone struggled with this?

Any help would be good for me...

I'd skip the clowns and go to the ring director, in this case a supervisor.

We had no problems with the SSA, but did with the MVD that wanted to use her maiden name as middle name (because she does not have a middle name)

In our case it helped that both my wife and mother's last names were, well, Polish (long and very few vowels if you know what I mean) and they could not get it right, so they were confused enough that the issue of not having a middle name was forgotten.

For the MVD, we waited until the EAD showed up to get them do it the way the EAD was.

'Logic' and government office do not belong in the same sentencedevil.gif
