Anyone ever actually been to the New Years Celebration and watched the ball drop at midnight? Being in Okla. doubt i ever get to actually experience that.

Two years ago I walked by Times Square to see the String Cheese Incident at Radio City Music hall on NYE. Lots of out of town people go to see the ball drop. I wouldn't waste my time.

I want to go and watch from a hotel room with a view, I would never actually stand on Times Square. I hate LARGE crowds...too much can go wrong. We priced hotels and I almost fell outta my chair, they wanted craaazy money for New Years Eve.

Well, how did you get this crazy cheap quote? Are you sure it was for a room with a view of the Ball

and not just a room in a nearby hotel?

There are only three hotels in Times Square which have rooms with a view of the Ball:

1) Renaissance New York,

2) DoubleTree Guest Suites, and

3) Marriott Marquis.
