IV package preparing for interview

hello i just sent my IV package in 23-01-2014 and when i checked i saw that is already in transit the estimated time is 27-01-2014 i would like to know how long it takes to receive a letter or email from the NVC to schedule the interview and please can i do the medical examination before i have an email from NVC i mean is that is okay ? thanks for everyone i appreciate all the answers

About 1-2 months to case complete looks like and another 1-2 months to the interview. You can look at the timelines in the IR-5 thread. They are probably about the same.

You can do the medical before you get the notice, yes, although the consulate does not recommend it. The results are valid for a year, so you're probably fine.

When you go to a clinic, please bring the following: 2 color pictures 5X5 cm in size, your travel passport, and an extract from of medical history with the list of vaccinations you have received.

It says "give the physician the date of your interview appointment", but the electronic appointment form (at least for Moscow) does not require you to provide the date.

I suppose it may be different for other locations.

Actually yes you DO. my husband had to present his interview appointment letter at the time if his interview. It is a requirement.

As I said, it may vary by location. The instructions for my consulate do not specify that.

And I've heard of people in other countries doing medical well in advance.
