I did a lot of research and read a lot of forum related to NVC process, but I guess too much information made me more confused and complicated of how NVC processed. PLEASE HELP. Here are some of my question?

- 1/23/14 - filled out DS-261 - Online Choice of Address (Done)

- 1/23/14 - Paid AOS ($88 I-864) - In Progress

- What should I do next? Can I fill out I-864 and gather all documents and send it to NVC after AOS status show paid and print out I-864 cover letter? or wait for NVC to me a package?

- I know DS-260 can be fill on-line after I pay the IV DS-230 Fee

once your i864 bill showing paid ,choose the right I 864 and print the cover letter and send it to the address showing on the cover letter .you don't have to wait just go to NVC AOS instructing and choose the right one and send it.Good luck

I suggest joining the NVC thread.. Read all the posts and ask there any questions you have. Posts 1 and 2 are extremely helpful but also take some time to read all the questions and experience other people are sharing also. It will make you feel 100% more confident.

Thanks for the replies. I think I get it. My next step is

- wait until AOS fee show "paid" on NVC then print out the barcode then send along with I-864 packets including all support documents (IRS Tax, Bank Statement, Employment letter...etc... )

- After pay DS-260 on-line, wait until it show "paid" on NVC, then fill-out DS-260 and submit online. Print the barcode of show paid on NVC. Send all support documents (Police Report, Marriage Certificate, Birth Certificate..etc..) to NVC.

- Last, should I ignore the NVC checklist if I know I already send NVC?

Basic process in very brief steps...

1. NVC recieve case

2. NVC assign case #

3. Call NVC and give email and acquire case # and invoice # (everything afterward will be email)

4. Fill out DS-261 online

5. Pay AOS fee

6. Send AOS package with bar code sheet after shows paid

7. Pay IV fee

8. Send IV package with bar code sheet after shows paid

9. Fill out DS-260 online

10. If you recieve checklist call and verify if it is false or correct

11. Respond to any checklist

12. Wait for email with interview date

3. Call NVC and give email and acquire case # and invoice # (everything afterward will be email)

You can wait for them to mail it to you through the mail but it will take longer

Can you please explain this step ?

When NVC receives your case it takes up to 20 business days (sometimes earlier) for them to enter it and generate a case # and invoice #. To get this information faster than waiting for it to be mailed to you. You will need to call them.

When we call they will give as case number and invoice number so we can login fill out DS-261 Online and pay AOS bill ?

Yes

then why we need to give email ?

After you give them your email. Then they will typically send you a email when the AOS and IV fees are available. Also any future correspondence such as your checklist, Packet IV, interview date, ect will be emailed.

I suggest to read the posts 1 and 2 on the thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/472916-nvc-filers-january-2014/ It will greatly help you speed through the process with ease

You can not login to fill out the DS-261 without a case number. When you call to get the case #, they will ask you about email. Even after you have submitted the DS-261 form, they will ask you again.

I have called probably 100 times and almost can quote the entire first 5 min.

Case # or receipt #?

Applicant name and date of birth?

Petitioner name and date of birth?

Who am I speaking with?

Is your phone number xxx-xxx-xxxx?

Is the applicant's email xxxxxx@xxx.xxx?

Is the petitioner's email xxxxxxx@xxx.xxx?

How can I help you?
