Hi all

just looked on the CEAC Status tracker and it says my visa is "Ready" does this mean it has been printed and is on its way to me?

Thanks Derek

well, it is a USA # and they do keep USA office hours.

If'n this is a herculean hurdle to overcome, to call into the USA,

suggest you engage yer USCitizen Petitioner, and ask that human to call in, instead, and then pass the word.

Yes, I've read yer timeline. Something is , indeed, wonky.

I suggest, because of the wonkyness in yer timeline, is best to contact the DoS Hotline, as

the DoS Hotline and the IV Unit use the same computer network (and it's not CEAC).

My wife's intervie is schedule for Feb and her status already say "ready". I think you status changes to ready once an interview is schedule. The if the interview is successful, it will change to Issued, case closed or some other statud. I may be wrong. All we can do is speculate. The IV unite and they computer system are messing with our brains.

Generally speaking the CEAC will say "issued" once the visa is issued. From the time it arrives at the consulate until the visa is issued, unless there is AP, it will say "ready." Generally speaking.

However, I agree with Darnell. Call DOS (not NVC) and inquire with them if the visa has been issued.

I read timelines. I interpret timelines based on other, written data. What I wrote here was not speculation, but an opinion based on what was written, both by the OP and the data in his timeline.

I do agree, it'd be nicer to know more about casefile status, before during and after the interview process. I've written much about this, over the years that I've been visiting this website.

What is wonky about the timeline-- had an I601 recently approved, needed renewed police certificate and medical. He estimates those arrived at embassy Jan 15. Couriered passport to embassy Jan 15. That is only five working days (MLK holiday) that had passed when he started this thread. With 3 things to come together and be checked at the embassy, the timeline isn't really wonky. He is desperate to make it to the US for the SuperBowl.

To the OP-- CEAC will say ready or Administrative process while it is pending. As an example of things they do, there was a case similar to yours where the passport arrived and London noticed a visit to a Muslim country in the interim while the waiver was processing. That ticked off a period of AP for more security checks. It will say Issued when it is printed so breathe a sigh when that happens. It won't necessarily be with the courier that day. DX Secure will email when they have the passport and it will give the delivery date.

In case nobody updates your case on CEAC, DOS will know when it is issued (printed) but they won't know courier details. Some wait 5-10 days from issued by London to passport in hand.

the timeline is not wonky, IMO,

but ceac status seems wonky, based on events.

CEAC is not so accurate, the DoS Hotline folk tell me this when I talk with them. However, that computer is shared by DoS Hotline and the IV Unit, so regardless of ceac status, DoS Hotline has the updated, accurate info.

Apologies if I led anyone to think the timeline was wonky.

So you think London would check a new medical report, new police report, review a passport, and get the visa printed in 5 days? But they didn't change status to Issued? I don't. They aren't that fast most of the time getting back to cold cases way after intitial interview. Ready on the status is feasible at the time he posted the question in my opinion. If it still says ready in 2-3 weeks, then they need a nudge.

Agreed. 5 days is a little fast for all that stuff to happen.

Nope, at all. I do not think the antithesis of what you wrote. So, we think alike on this one bit.

That's a plus.

My point, still valid, is that CEAC status is wonky, not rely on it, and the DoS Hotline knows all for casefile status.
