I do not understand what you mean.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

6 months or more at best. When she enters the US the CBP will stamp how much time they will allow. If it was 6 months she can stay that long. Remember you have to be out of US more than in. Too many visits can get you denied fast.

I have a friend with a B2 visa and has come to visit wife like 20 times in last year (he works for airlines). They told him in November to stop no more visits too many.

Only 6 months?

You said she wanted a visa to bring your son here? I doubt if anybody would expect her to go back on the next flight.

She has a home and life to go back for.

a b2 is for visiting, not living. Is 6 months not long enough to get your son here?

yes actually she was here before in a tourist visa but that was a long time ago. so im a lil confident she will get approved plus shes the one accompanying my son.. any advice?

Did she had a daughter living in US back then ? She needs to show ties to her home country, you being in US and your son moving there show ties to US. I personally wouldn't be confident at all.

Also, exiting to Mexico does not reset 6-months (remember she can always get a 2 week - for example - entry) maximum stay time. Even if she goes back to Phillipines and comes back to US soon enough, her visa may be revoked and she might be sent back. As other said, B2 is for visiting, not living.

Rule of thumb - more time outside US than in US - therefore mimimum 6 months. Nobody's overthinking it, you obviously haven't had a change to taste Murhy's laws and make assumptions that everything is going to be perfect... Good luck...

Hi everybody, okay so heres the situation here. We are sending my sons papers today (CR2) my hubby will petition him (long story why he wasnt able to came over here in the US with me under a k2 visa before). My mom will bring him over here in the US and we will get her a tourist visa. Do you have any advice when should we file her tourist visa application? and how tong does it take to get a tourist visa?

Got it, my misunderstanding.

I thought you just wanted to get a visa so your Mother could travel with him, drop him off and go back home. She is looking to come with him it seems.

Language issue!

That bit I got, the issue that confused us was staying.

Boiler is confused because in one post you have said you want your mum to escort your son here (which shouldn't take more than a couple of days), and in another you have said you want her to live with you for six months, leave to Mexico, then come back relatively soon and live with you for, presumably, another six months.

If you want your mum to live with you, you'll need to petition for her to come over on an immigrant visa.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.
