Hi everybody, okay so heres the situation here. We are sending my sons papers today (CR2) my hubby will petition him (long story why he wasnt able to came over here in the US with me under a k2 visa before). My mom will bring him over here in the US and we will get her a tourist visa. Do you have any advice when should we file her tourist visa application? and how tong does it take to get a tourist visa?

She could apply now, that way if she does not get one you will have plenty of time to make other arrangements.

You can look up current processing times, usually a few week to a month or so to get the interview.

The normal B2 is issued for 10 years. YMMV.

The visa is issued with a 10 year validity.

wow does all B2 visa like that?

A B2 is for tourism. Most B2s are multi entry and are valid for a number of years. That means that you can visit multiple times over the years using the same visa. You must follow the rules of the visa, never overstay, spend more time in your home country than in the US, etc. The visa gives you permission to visit like a normal person.

Yes, but it's really meaningless. Maximum time per one visit in 6 months. Also, you probably need to have a back-up for situation when your mom is denied tourist visa.

Not all, as I said that is normal.

As far as I know most countries issue visa's usually for multiple years. I see PI is normally a year so perhaps your confusion.

The fact that she is accompanying your son is not a reason to grant a visa. The fact that she had one before will work in her favor (assuming she used it properly).

It's not important why she needs to go to the US. It's important why she would return to Phils.

Why does she want to go to Mexico?
