Case # & Medical Issue Question

A few hours ago we called NVC and now we have our case number so what do we need to do next?

  • Do we have to wait for NVC to email us that they forwarded it to the embassy?
  • Or can I (the beneficiary) go ahead and start filling out the DS-160 and check out the possible interview appointment dates and medical appointment dates?

I just want a confirmation from those who have been through this before because I think I've read somewhere that they already scheduled their medical after getting the NVC number. But I've also read that you need the letter before you can have your medical? The whole K1 process is just so overwhelming that any advice would be greatly appreciated.

About the medical examination... I have infrequent menstrual periods (Oligomenorrhea), will that be an issue during the medical examination and visa interview? Will they question if I am able to bear children or not? I have been stressing and thinking a lot and having sleepless nights because of this problem. I am worried because I know they ask during the medical examination the date of the last menstruation. Has anyone had this similar issue or know someone who had?

I have irregular mensus too and I already pass my interview and have no issue what so ever. They asked about your last mensus because they want to find out if you are pregnant or not. That's what I know.

Not sure about your country. For mine, I can go for medical with my case number. I went ahead with my medical way before I get my p3! My medical was done in December

Hi, in my case as the petitioner, neither I nor my fiance received an email from NVC about updates of our case and if you will email them, it will take you forever to receive a reply. Now that you have your case or MNL#, you can go ahead and pay your visa application then do the medical with your visa interview appointment confirmation on hand. To further guide you, please check this link from Hank..

Good luck!

You can schedule your interview once you have your case number and paid your visa fee. You should wait for your NOA2 clearance first, if you are concerned, but it's not necessary.

The medical appointment is first come first served at St. Luke's Medical Center in Manila, no appointments. Get there early like 4:00-5:00 AM. If you are menstruating, they will not be able to examine you fully and will ask you to come back one week after the last day of your period. It's best to go to St. Luke's a few days after your period when you are no longer discharging.

Got your MNL # !! ? Then it is rock 'n' time!

Everything is online for USEM.

As for St. Luke's ... as long as "it" isn't happening at examine time all is good. No they do not care if you can bear children or not.

Follow the flashing arrow for more details...

Pop over to the Philippines forum for all things related to the embass in Manila. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

Yes I have the MNL# now. I will just have to fill out DS160, pay the fee thru Bancnet, then schedule appointment. Then I will plan my trip to Manila.

I am really just worried that they'll make a fuss about me having only a few menstrual periods a year. I hope it won't be a problem during the medical exam.

Thanks for everyone who replied.
