Another awesome one liner that has nothing to do with the thread. I was unable to find any data of ebt being abused on anything Nascar related. Or are you trying to somehow turn this into something it isn't? Or are you just merely trying to up your post count?

Option #2.

These stiories are diversions and make no sense. No one, Not Dems, Not Repubs, ever offer a solution to the problem. They just gripe about the symptoms

When you give someone an EBT card, especially with the cash option, you are giving them money. Period. It all goes into the pot and everything gets paid from the pot. Who cares? Can't buy tobacco with EBT? OK, I will buy it with the $$$ I save from buying potatoes and diapers with EBT.

If there s a problem with welfare, it is that we do not require the people receiving the benefits to be on a path to not need welfare. A requirement that they attend school amd/or work 40 hours per week would go a long way to eliminate the NEED for welfare. The percentage of educated, trained, amd experienced people on welfare is miniscule. When we know the SOLUTION to the "problem" is education and job training and we do not require it...then WE are the fools.

The Libertarian ideal is individual liberty and individual responsibility. Many people aren't there and it is fantastical to believe everyone will be, but that needs to be the GOAL. And if we are just handing out stuff without requiring someone physically capable to work on the GOAL we are idiots

Well, someone turn up the heat in hell. It's beginning to freeze over. I actually agree with Gary here.

Certain people would never live it down. wink.png

He also agrees with me on Gay marriage and marijuana. And probably a dozen or more things. He even agrees with me on Obamacare sucking and knows that single payer is the only way to do it...but won't say it. Weird. I wonder why Germany never tried Obamacare? Canada? UK?

Most of you agree with me on most things.

I agree with Danno on some things and not others. So what? It would be kind of silly for me to be "against" something because one particualr oerson or another was "for it" That would be stupid.

Bernie Sanders said..."If you agree with me on 8 things...vote for me. If you agree with me on everything, check into a mental hospital"

Sad that many working, tax-paying USCs can't qualify for those.

When I moved back from Thailand in 07, I stayed with my sister for a few months. She's unmarried with 5 kids. The father of 3 of them lived there as well, but apparently getting married would have ruined them on the tax thing She did her taxes and she was getting 5k back. I was confused to say the least since she barely worked. That's when she introduced me to the EITC. Needless to say I was shocked. I could understand paying little or no income tax, but to have the govt. actually PAY you, blew my mind. It still does. The 3 oldest boys are young adults now, and it appears they'll be doing life in prison on the installment plan from the way things are going.

It IS insane... And one of many reasons why we should never support tax increases on anyone already paying income taxes. So much of what the government collects from us working people is WASTED.

Oh wait, I think I hear my Obamaphone ringing...
