I believe you are correct, professional help IS called for. Only 3 hours and 44 minutes elapsed, and already you forgot what you said, even though it is scrollable and readable in an internet format that should render it fairly easy for the average user.

If not professional assistance, perhaps some Ginkgo Biloba?

I like the idea of a "smart gun" that you have mentioned many times. One that will only fire if in it's rightful owners hand. It seems like a very feasible solution going forward.

Yeah but Chad Oulsen would still be dead. As would tens if not hundreds of thousands of others.

In "liberal bizzaro world" (you just cannot conceptualize liberal arguments can you?) neither guy would have a gun and the story would never happen. And no one would be dead.

Thinking like that is just as bizarre as any other way of thinking. There are supposedly over 300 million guns in the U.S. Trying to get rid of all of them would be about as easy as eradicating pissants. What kind of measures do you think could be taken that would get guns out of the hands of those who shouldn't have them that would not affect those that have never committed any crimes with their guns? Or should the government just go door to door confiscating people's private property?

How is the problem too many guns and the solution more guns? Any gun laws should be gradual, meant to span out over the next century. The goal is reduce the amount of guns floating around. And no, doesn't mean door to door confiscation.

I never said more guns is the solution. You must have me confused with someone else. However, every attempt to control guns has been merely a nuisance to law abiding gun owners and has had no effect on gun crime. I'm all for getting guns out often the hands of criminals but I don't think our government has a clue on knowing how to do it.

We continue to log more than 10,000 homicides by gun a year. Wake me up when we get to less than 1,000.

Don't tell me what to do.

Deaths by year:

2007 2008 2009 2010 2011

Total 14,916 14,224 13,752 13,164 12,664

By guns: 10,129 9,528 9,199 8,874 8,583

Busy making shite up, are we? Stick with the facts, why don't you?

The more guns, the more gun deaths. There's just one anomaly - Mexico. Otherwise, the trend holds.

Well, the amount of guns has increased over time, I mean if nothing changes, it will continue to grow. I think we can both assume that.

The government has had some successes here and there. But it's really hard to force gun control when enforcement is sporadic at best. Any real effort would need real commitment from the government and us as a country. There's too many now, why can't we at the very least slow the production a bit?

I don't make shite up. Just because you don't like my source does not make yours more relevant. I figure the FBI is pretty reliable as a source on crime, eh? Maybe even more so than factcheck. But that's just me.

While were at it, this is a plot of 45 developed countries (I reckon you'd call them our peers) of homicides and gun ownership. Seems more guns DOESN'T equate to higher amount of homicides. (BTW, that far right side of the chart, country #45? That's the US of A)

There are more guns out there but those guns are owned by fewer persons. What you see is gun aficionados stockpiling. That's all.

A mental health check on Curtis Reeves may have prevented Chad Oulson's death, then again maybe not. It's never going to be 100% fool proof.
