I'm not in for the "all inclusive fix" as it doesn't really exist. The ones that are out there are out there. That should not be an excuse to not do anything going forward any more than not making laws unless people will obey them.

I like the idea of a "smart gun" that you have mentioned many times. One that will only fire if in it's rightful owners hand. It seems like a very feasible solution going forward.

I think it's a sad outcome. It's not something to be celebrated.

So a victory for the good guys makes you sad. Yet if the perp shot an unarmed store clerk or patron, you'd be all over it like a little girl going to her first prom, claiming how guns are ruining America, and how we need gun control.

The truly sad part is that the guy felt the need to rob the store in the first place. It's sad that his upbringing was not such to prevent him from trying such a foolish thing. Or that is current circumstances (assuming he HAD a good upbringing) made him feel so desperate that he needed to stoop to assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, and thievery to get some money or cigarettes.

For all we know, he was simply a guy down on his luck, jobless, trying to come up with enough cash to be able to afford some ACA. wink.png

He was suicidal and wanted to be shot? Where does it say that?

This was a university educated chistian family man. Does it strike noone else as strange that he would try to rob a store?

strange? not at all.

he has an addiction to crystal meth.

picked up AFTER his CC license was issued.

I am always happy to celebrate one less crystal-meth user . It's a nice count.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

To me, it would make sense to do away with all state level gun laws. 50 different approaches seems far too difficult to manage. One federal statue that controls the sale/purchase/ownership of guns. All must be registered and sold through registered dealers and all purchases are subject to a background check. Anyone committing a crime or being diagnosed with any mental illness will lose their guns immediately.

there is something in some old document nobody cares about anymore.. That says something about if this document does not spell out its a function of the Feds,, then it's state Biz.

It doesn't make me sad. But if it makes you happy, then maybe professional help is called for.

I don't believe anyone deserves to die. But if you think a drug problem makes a person beyond redemption maybe you need a lesson in Christian values.

I believe you are correct, professional help IS called for. Only 3 hours and 44 minutes elapsed, and already you forgot what you said, even though it is scrollable and readable in an internet format that should render it fairly easy for the average user.

If not professional assistance, perhaps some Ginkgo Biloba?
