It's been 8 weeks since I got my NOA2. I'm expecting the NVC to receive my petition and be at this stage any day now. I'll be in Ghana to visit my fiance again in late March. I'm looking at some of your timelines and it looks like I might have an interview by that date? I hope I can reschedule it for the period I'm in Accra? I didn't expect to have an interview until May or June. I also have no idea how much I need to set aside to prepare for this interview.

So I'm going to assume the medical is $400 give or take. And I'd like to pay the $240 interview fee online but I don't know how to do that either? I also would like to start getting prepared now. All I have so far is my I-134, tax transcripts & letters from employers. What should I expect to receive in Packet 3 & 4? What documents does my Fiance need to receive to pick up the packet from the embassy? I read people don't always receive the notice in the mail. Can she just go get her health records & police report ahead of time or does that report have to be on formal embassy documentation? I appreciate the help & thanks for sharing this information.

I appreciate your help and I'm looking forward to hearing the outcome. Thanks!

I took Hepatitis B vaccines at the Police Hospital in Accra. It is just off the Danquah Circle and it was fine with the hospital. I had to take 3 shots spread over each month. So at Akai house I took 3 extra vaccines, a chest Xray, Blood tests and Physical examination.

Let him check his post box as soon as possible his call in letter will be could be mailed there. Mine came through the post. I waited for an email notification but nothing came. He will have to present that letter at the embassy to pick up his packets. The packets 3 & 4 will have his interview dates and the documents he needs to present for the interview. The Hospital will ask for the interview date so he can hold on with that one but can go ahead and get the Police report (it takes two weeks to have it ready).

if u wait for the email, nothing comes, u have to email the embassy with your info and request for when u can come for the letter, they reply with a date in email, u print email and go to embassy.

So We Called The Akia hospital on 3 way and they are still saying 800 cedis. I don't want him not to bring enough and have to reschedule. I don't want someone just using us cause they know we need the test. I don't know what to do now. We will call again on Monday and see what the price is they say again. The police report we got under control. Just this medical I'm worried about now.

ok, i had my medical at holy trinity.

medicals from one of these two hospitals is accepted by the us emb.

when i called both, holy trinity costed less, i checked them up and they had won dozens of prestigiuos awards so to me that meant they were good. me and some other vj friends used this clinic and would highly recommend it. akai house may be taking advantage of the fact that they are closer to the embassy to charge more, but in my view that doesn't make them better. u go to the embassy interview on an entirely different day so distance doesn't play a role.

but its still your call

i just called holy trinity place and they said 460cedis (200usd) for medicals, but u should budget 600 cedis, u might pay for one thing or the other like they charge u 5ghc if u dont already have a passport foto, they ask u to eat if u haven't (at their restaurant),

rem to go with passport too.

good luck

What exactly do you ask for when you call the hospital? I don't want to ask them for u.s. Visa shots unless I have to. Seems like as soon as they know it's for an American visa the price doubles.

Have you gone to get the medical? I just went to Akai House the other day, and they said the medical exam was about GHc535. And my forms didn't say anything about $400 (maybe I got an outdated form).

Also, the police report takes 2 weeks? Is there any way to speed that up? By paying an advance price or anything? Thanks!

My fiancé got his letter last week telling him to come to the Ghana Embassy to pick up his packet. He said when he got there it was about 20 other people there for the k1visa.he said he gave them the paper notice and he was told to come back at 230 to pick up his packet.when he got back at 230 his name was called and a woman gave him his packet with his medical info which is 400 USD, police report and forms that he needed to go online and fill out. Also it gave him a list of all the info that he needed to bring back to the interview like birth certificate and passport size photo. So he has till February 24th to get everything done.

lucky you me and my husband are almost done as well I just paid the fee so he should have the interview soon..i wish you all luck
