I-134 Affidavit of Support

I completed the I-134 for my fiance (he's being interviewed at the US embassy in London next week) and sent him the notarized I-134 form and the supporting documents (copies of tax returns, letter from employer and copies of last three paychecks). My question is, do I need to get the supporting documentation - tax returns, etc. - notarized? Our lawyer's office doesn't think so, but based on information that was sent to my fiance from the embassy he seems to think that is what they're asking for. Can anyone provide any further information?

No the supporting documents need not be notarized, if you sent copies of the returns did you send copies of W-2s? They tend to look for W-2 forms. Too late now but I would have recommended copies of tax transcripts from the IRS

I cannot speak to what the consulate might think but notarization does not certify, attest or improve the validity of a tax return. Notarization only validates the signature of the per signing in their presence.

I forgot to mention the W-2s, I sent copies of those as well.
