hello!

This is my first post. i've been following this board for well over a year and today finally got up the nerve to post my first question.if i'm in the wrong catagory, please let me know. thank you.

in a nutshell- my husband did his biometrics mid august 2013 and then time seem to stand still regarding getting the waiver.

we have an attorney.

she has called the processing center numerous times and has been told there is no average processing time.

i know i'm not alone in this crazy delay as i have read so many posts from others on this site. you have no clue how much you have all helped me through the process.

in my reading and research i saw that quite a few were declined due to "reason to believe". Our attorney confirmed that several cases filed before us of hers were in that boat.

i purposely waited a bit past the open gate in march 2013 for our lawyer to start this process and i felt there would be a learning curve in processing.

it was hard for us to wait but we did. i feel better that we waited the few extra weeks but that's just a personal opinion.

so now here i am -

i'd greatly appreciate any info from anyone who did their biometrics around the same time as my husband (august 2013). if you've done yours in july 2013 and got your NOA2 then that would be a good piece of info to share with my husband.

I'm looking for anything to bolster hsi spirits.

next question (and last one for now) my stepdaughter's 15th bday is this july (she lives in mexico). i'm sure if you have a mexican family member you know the significance of this bday.

while i'd like to say we will be all wrapped up and there for that party- i'm now being realistic.

what are the odds, in your opinion, of getting some sort of travel visa to bring her here this summer and have her party here? does that sound not workable?

my husband is so stressed over this matter and i am trying to remain calm.

never in our wildest dreams did we think we would be sitting and sitting and sitting this long.

thank you very much for reading my post and thanks for helping a newbie. i look forward to meeting others via this board.

My friend's husband waiver was received by USCIS on July 29, 2013 and his Biometrics done on August 23, 2013. Still no decision yet. So they are quite worried that it's delaying too much too.

I sent my waiver on September 14, 2013 did my Biometrics on October 11, 2013. My waiver was approved on January 9, 2014. You just don't know the timelines are so different.

Is there a fee waiver form for the I601a?

The Form I-601A fees cannot be waived.
