I think it's reasonable to want to maintain as much privacy as possible, especially given that this process tends to put you, your love, your life, and your history under a microscope.

I don't think anyone wants to give up personal details but I doubt we have a choice.

As a ME/NA regular I will say that evidence depends on where you are applying. You will not believe that some consider emails and chat better than phone bills and other things. They want to see what you have to say to each other which is crazy. And sometimes they do read ti and question the perons about the information in them. I was returned to the US so me after seeing how this process is I would send every piece of evidence that I have. So what it is 2lbs. or 19 I would send it and then I would have the other 30lbs at the interview. I would place anyhting I think would help my case and I would also address anything that would seem funny. If you want throw in some letters from your family and friends. One thing that was crazy at my interview was the idea that of my religion. So me if I could do it all over. I would have them hating they checked the mail that day.

We did not include a single e-mail or letter in our original petition. Just evidence of having met, four photographs, and three months of phone bills. No problems getting the I-129F approved.

We probably won't have any e-mails at the consular stage, either, as we haven't e-mailed anything more than 'hey babe going out tonight call the cell instead of the land line' in about two years. Phone records & a memory book for us.

i can relate. our emails were mostly one-liners. :) however, i included about 5 emails anyway...just to show the date ranges on when we communicated. just simple emails...mostly talking about plans...places to go and see together when i visit or when he gets to the States etc.

Fate is building a bridge of chance for the one you love...

If you can send really simple, 1 paragraph e-mails, then I guess I can live with that. Thing is, my e-mail address is kind of rude, so do you think I could get away with blacking out the addy? I doubt it...

If I were from the ME I'd do exactly the same thing.

We did include copies of our email to each other for the last 9 months prior to filing of our 129F. It's not necessary but we were told that overdoing our paperwork won't hurt. We even included the letters provided by the dating site where we met just so we could support our statement that we met thru IMB. We didn't talk about nonsense in our letters, mostly about our day to day activities and such. Those letters - if ever they will read them - will show them that even though we've been together for quite some time, we still get to know and learn about each other more. But we made it sure that we included letters with no suspicious topics, no "too personal" discussion and the likes, just I love yous and miss yous so that we don't have to black them out. Aside from these copies of email, we also included receipts of our money transfers, 10 or so photographs together, telephone bills, snail mails, travel reciepts, itineraries, boarding passes, stamped passport pages, and hotel accomodations and hotel receipts. I know that even though we included a lot it doesn't mean we're not going to receive RFE, but like they said, overdoing it won't hurt. I HOPE THEY'RE RIGHT THOUGH, LOL
