I got my approved K1 Visa from Dublin Embassy in the post this morningsmile.png . Inside, It had my passport with the visa page stuck into it and the orange envelope with the big "DO NOT OPEN" warning on the front. As an aside it took 6 working days to reach me from the day of my interview. Looking at other reports on here, that seems like a long time. But its January so..meh.

I'm flying back to the USA this weekend and I'll be leaving from Dublin which I'm pretty sure is regarded as a Port of Entry to the USA?

My questions are..

  • What is the procedure in Dublin now that I have this Visa, how will it be handled? Will the officer at the glass Kiosk deal with it or do I have to go back to secondary screening?
  • Will they take the orange envelope in Dublin or when I land in the United states?
  • Do I have to answer more probing questions in Dublin are is the process fairly slick?

These might seem like stupid questions but I haven't had the best experiences with pre-clearance in Dublin and I'm anxious to have this over with and get back to my fiancee despite everything now being 100% in order.

Can anyone who has been through this stage of the process please give me a brief rundown on what happens? Maybe I'm over thinking this.

Thanks.

Go here and select Dublin from the dropbox > http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/poereviews.php

That will show you reviews of others that had their POE there.

Thanks,

That thread was helpful although not many reviews on the Dublin Airport POE. I will have to add to it after my own experience.

I noticed a few posts regarding getting your I-94 documented at the same time the K1 Visa is stamped.

I am entering USA on K1 Non-Immigrant Visa with 90 days to get married.

Do I get I-94 after marriage or at Port of Entry?

They no longer give paper I-94 forms. It is automated. They will just stamp your passport. After arriving in the US, you can retrieve your I-94 info to print out for getting your SSN and filing for AOS after you marry. https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html
