Stuck in Administrative Processing

My husband had his interview in Islamabad, Pakistan on Dec 26, 2013.

He was told that he had all the necessary paperwork and that he would get his visa in 1-3 months, because they has to put him on necessary Administrative Processing.

He was given a green sheet, which means that he was refused under 221(g) but they didn't say that he needed any other paperwork.

I'm confused because almost one month has gone by and his case was last updated on Jan 7, 2014.

Should I get my Congressman involved? Any tips?

There is nothing you can do to shorten administrative processing.

My fiance was interviewed in October and told no more than 2 months. You cannot involve a congressman yet. It has only been one month, have some patience, AP is a long road.

People in AP need to start a letter writing thread to Congress and the DOS. Security is one thing but more than 6 months for name checks is absolutely outrageous.

I had filed for my ex and it was on AP. I did call Department of State: try this number(202) 485-7600. If not, try searching Department of state contact numbers.They can tell what is going on. They told me exactly when the file was sent from the consulate to washington for ap and what is going on (name clearance or other) and when the file was sent back etc. THat was back in 2009. I would give it a shot. My ex's name had to be cleared and it took 3 weeks then. Ofcourse, she was a muslim female from india so a little quicker there but pakistan could be longer. Hope that helps.
