The best I could do when my wife was still in the Philippines was to get her name on the account (I forget what you call it... I think it is called "Payable Upon Death") as the person who would get all the money if something happened to me (such as if I died). That is how Bank of America did it for us at that time. I just was trying to do all the things I could for proof of mingling of financial resources. Also had her name added to the car title as a co-owner. And had the apartment manager add her on the lease even before she was here. That probably wasnt all necessary, but even if it wasnt necessary it just felt good to see these things done to make it feel more like she was here and a part of my life, hehe.
