Current wait time until interview for AOS via marriage interview?

I hope this is the right forum!

I am a U.S. citizen and my husband and I just sent in paperwork today to apply for his green card (he already lives and works here). We sent the paperwork to the Chicago office (filing the 130 and 485 together), and we live in California.

We're just trying to get a handle on the current timeline of how long it will be until our interview, as I do quite a bit of traveling.

If anyone who recently had an interview of this kind, or recently got notice for your interview, can you let me know how long between the time you sent in paperwork until you 1) received notice of the interview and 2) the interview date itself?

We have an interview at the USCIS SF office next week, on the 28th. I submitted AOS for my wife on October 21st, 2013. NOA1 date was 10/24. We received the interview notice about 3 weeks ago. They mailed it to us about 4 weeks ago. Figure you'll have about a month notice before the interview from the notice's arrival as we knew the interview date before the letter arrived from online case status. We sent in my wife's AOS paperwork around the end of October (NOA was 10/31 if I remember correctly). She had her interview this morning and was approved, so that's not quite 3 months.

I think it comes down to the workload at the regional office that you have the interview at. I've seen several cases that take almost 6 months before interview but some that take less than 3.

It depends on where you live. We filed in August and you can see our timeline in my signature. There are still people who filed in August who are waiting for interviews.

The timing will vary depending on the complexity of the case and whether you get an RFE ect... But it can vary from 3-6 months.

I would agree that it depends on where you live (sadly...). We live in DC, sent the I-485 in mid-Oct, and just got a notification to have an interview in late February. It makes 4 months. If there is anybody here from DC, it would be super helpful to know if our interview takes place in DC or Alexa, VA.
