My father petitioned my younger sister who is 19 years old. late last year, they received the notice to fill-out and send the AOS form after paying the AOS fees, since my father had just been in the US for exactly a year today and held his recent job for only about 7 months, he cannot provide an ITR yet. My question is, is there a timeframe or period for filing an AOS? does the notice expire or forfeits? If yes, for how long? Because my father would want to wait until such time that he can provide and ITR as supporting document. Also, my brother who is an American Citizen and who petitioned my parents in 2012, is planning to be a joint sponsor in case my father's income does not meet the federal poverty guidelines. Does he have to fill-out an AOS form alone and send it or does my father still have to fill-out a separate form as well and send it together with my brother's? Thank you so much and more power!

I think you have a year to submit everything or else you need to start all over again. About the aos the petitioner and joint sponsor should fill up an aos each then send it together at the same time. There are other documents needed when you file aos. Pls read the instructions that comes with the aos form at nvc website :)
