Expecting CR1 but Green Card category is IR1

Hi all,

We were married less than 2 years when we applied DCF and got my Green Card last year I was expecting to get CR1 however in my GC my category appears to be IR1, also expiration date is 10 years from the date I got mine, Do you know anything about this kind of situation? please write..

you know your POE date.

you know your marriage date.

subtract one from the other.

If'n the difference is more than 2 years, hey !

Had you been married for more than 2 years when you entered the US with your immigrant visa? If so, that explains why you already have the permanent green card.

Happens all the time. You should've sent back the wrong card with a copy of your marriage certificate, date of entry and a I-90 form (no-fee as USCIS error) and gotten a 2-yr card. Why wait over a year to get the card fixed?

I see in your timeline that you got marry in 2012,and your POE is also in 2012.That's an error,they do mistakes sometime,contact USCIR,probably they will tell you to apply for your CR1 card.But don't make assumptions and just call them.It's been a while already.
