K1 Online Payment Success in China for Embassy Fee!

Hi everyone,

I have never posted here but felt a need to contribute some important info that will help many of you.

After two weeks of agony, my fiancee was finally able to pay the visa fee online of 1464 rmb!

I can't tell you how relieved I am. She lives in Guilin so paying at an ATM of CITIC was not an option as this bank is not in Guilin.

She also is still working so there is no time for her to travel to Nanning or another city to pay.

It is amazing how difficult they make it.

1. Basically from the ustraveldocs site you get sent to cgifederal site (where you register for interview appointment) and then finally you are sent to the CITIC bank site to make payment.

What is silly is you get sent to the Home Page, it is up to you to find the Visa Payment page within the CITIC site.

2. The fiancee will then need to create an acount at the CITIC site. (she sent me many sreenshots and we attemted to do this together. some pages can be translated to english)

3. Upon arriving at the payment page at CITIC you need to input your CGI refence number. Make sure it is the right one for the correct amount because in our case the CGI number kept changing after logging in again at cgifederal. It would change to a lower teir amount for some reason. The cgifederal site is horrible!

4. Now she attemted to use her UnionPay debit card from ABC bank to pay but a security plugin needed to be installed first. Ahhh!

Finally plugin was installed

5. Next the site needed to SMS text the mobile phone number used when she opened her account to verify identity. Well, she couldn't remember which number she had when she opened the account so she had to pay a visit to ABC bank to verify. Finally the text went through and she received the code! (the debit card Pin number is also required)

6. Finally I thought we made it to the finish when the site said, The debit card used is not approved for online payment! After a week of attempting to register at ABC for online payment, we gave up and my fiancee ended up opening an account with Postal Savings bank that allowed online payments.

So all in all it took about two weeks to sort this out with our busy schedules and about 100 pages of dialouge/quarrel on QQ.

Thank goodness we now have our interview date! Next we need to figure out how many days before interview do we need to see the doctor.

Goodluck everyone going for the K1 in China or Guangzhong specifically :)

re: doctor - can go morning of prior business day of interview, get medical results later in the day.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Thanks! Does this apply also if we intend to do her vaccinations the same day or will that take more time?

I read that we will be given a sealed envelope.

Be prepared to wait hours just for them to get the medical results sealed envelope back to you in the afternoon. Ugh, longest 2 hours of my life...
