Hello everyone.

I have a question regarding my passport during the AOS process.

We filed AOS a few days ago. We included the copies of my passport (biographic page and K1 Visa + entry stamps).

While my passport is still valid for now - it will expire in 1 1/2 moths. I already have an appointment with the German consulate to apply for a new one (what can take up to 3moths - in combination with my name change).

The consulate told me I will be able to keep my old passport during the the application process and I will also be able to keep it with my new passport.

My question now is - due to the fact that I applied AOS with my old passport - will I be having trouble at some point during the AOS process? Will they require me to send in my passport ant any point or will I be asked to bring it to the interview. I can see there should not be a big problem if I can bring both my old and new one to the interview - but what happens if my interview will be before Ill receive my new passport but all I can bring is an expired passport?

Did anyone experienced this?

Thank you for your help

Not a problem at all. Passport is used as ID when entering the USCIS office, and if they should so happen to want to see your entry stamp(doubtful). It can be used for that purpose even if it is expired.
