how to legally chnage wifes name

Hey guys so so far with my IR1/CR1 process I have done nothing to chnge my wifes name to my last name as hers

I am at the final stage of NVC waiting for the final review so they can send off to consulate so now what is the process of changing her name to mine?

so that all her new documents have my last name as hers? like her GC and social? is this done at the consulate or after she enters us?

I would also like to know this because I'm planning on doing this as well.

I'm planning on getting a new passport before I go to the consulate (I still have a loooooooong way to go) with my married name so they can stamp my visa on that, I'm not sure if this will interfer with it all though

there has to be some document or court order showing the new name.

since yer spouse is outside the usa,

i suggest changing the name in the passport, first.

Get that done? The IV Unit has a gov issued document that has the new name, and all things flow with that name change (Visa, green card, POE record, ELIS data, SAVE data)

yes, the IV Unit. Show a new passport at the IV Unit (usually on interview day) and the name change flows all throughout the system.
