My fiancee's interview is scheduled in 2 days. We have a copy of the police certificate and the birth certificate. But I just realized....do I need to get them translated? Is there any place that can do a quick 1 day turnaround in Guangzhou near the embassy?

You probably need to reschedule...We submitted ours to the China notary and it took about two weeks. We didn't want to go to the interview without the proper documents so we postponed.

Also you need a single certificate, and a translation for that also...

Journey so far:

09/14/2012: Sent I-129F Packet

09/21/2012: NOA1 Received

04/22/2013: NOA2 Notice of approval
05/08/2013 NVC Received

06/01/2013 Packet 3 Received

06/04/2013 Packet 3 Sent

06/10/2013 Packet 4 email received

06/27/2013 First Scheduled interview-cancelled (didn't get notarized paperwork in time)

08/12/2013 K-1 interview passed!

08/28/2013 Lili Arrives in the U.S.!!!

10/04/2013 Marriage!!!

03/26/2014 AOS Approved!

04/02/2014 Received GC

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong, and think of what could go right!

You can do a search on the Internet and find one of several Chinese notarial offices. You should contact them by telephone and let them know you're willing to pay additional for an expedited process. Let them know you need it in a few hours. If you get busy now, you may be able to find one.

I know you hate to intentionally postpone this, but it is faster to postpone it and do it right the first time than it is to make mistakes and do it over.
